Shih-Kuei Chen is our business specialist and law firm manager. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Mr. Chen has skills to help businesses avoid problems frequently encountered in today’s global economy. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree in Financial and Economic law from Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan. After graduating, he served his country in the judge advocate general’s corps of the Taiwanese Coast Guard. His duties included investigating criminal activity and cooperating with non-military prosecutors in criminal cases. On leaving the Coast Guard, he represented clients in civil matters in a law firm whose specialty was administrative, property and civil law. He has also gained valuable business and negotiations experience working for an international trade company in Taipei, Taiwan.
Shih-Kuei is one of the first to earn his degree of Master of Laws in International Business Transactions from Sturm College of Law, University of Denver. He gained valuable experience and contacts as a member of Colorado Intellectual Property Inns of Court; and, through volunteering with programs sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, has learned about United States’ litigation and procedure. Since earning his L.L.M. from University of Denver and prior to joining POLARIS, Mr. Chen worked as international business manager for a United States entertainment company, providing business advice, negotiating contracts and being the liaison with that company’s outside counsel. He has been a Colorado Notary Public since March, 2014.
Based on his international business and legal background, his presence will benefit both our law firm and our clients. Shih-Kuei speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese.
